Meet Parktown's Veterinarians

Dr. Amy Long Goulart

Dr. Amy Long Goulart graduated in 2004 from Ross University having completed her clinical studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Goulart earned her B.S. from Guilford College in 2000.

Originally from the North Carolina/Virginia area, Dr. Goulart practiced in upstate NY and Cleveland OH before moving to California in 2008. Dr. Goulart worked several years in emergency medicine and critical care and also taught courses in veterinary technology and surgical assisting at a community college prior to moving to California.

Dr. Goulart has a special interest in surgery and she greatly enjoys all types of soft tissue surgical procedures.

Dr. Goulart has two dogs, Bo (a Boston Terrier) and Jessie (a Lab Mix). In her free time she enjoys hiking with her dogs, horseback riding, and exploring all California has to offer.


Dr. Nate Fichtenberg

Born and raised in Sonoma, California, Dr. Fichtenberg received honors in a Zoology degree at University of California at Santa Barbara and then attended veterinary school at The Royal Veterinary College in London, England.

Dr. Fichtenberg has special interest in internal medicine, diagnostic imagery, pharmacology, and anesthesiology. Outside of work, Dr. Fichtenberg spends time with his wife, Véronique, and his daughter, Gigi, and the family cats, Loulou and Layla.  They enjoy tango dancing, hiking, wine tasting, and anything baby related!


Dr. Cheryl Thur

Dr. Cheryl Thur graduated from Washington State University with her DVM degree in 2010. Prior to getting her doctorate Dr. Thur received her B.S. in Biology and Minor in Chemistry at the University of Utah. Before studying veterinary medicine, she was a licensed massage therapist and assisted with research in Hantavirus.

Dr. Thur is originally from San Jose and is so excited to be back home after leaving for her studies. She has special interests in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and dentistry. She aspires to become certified in acupuncture.

Dr. Thur lives with her husband and two adorable cats, Cleopatra and Davey. She enjoys spending time exploring the bay area via hiking and biking and in addition loves traveling, camping, playing piano, running, reading and cooking.


Parktown's Staff

Michelle - Office Manager

Michelle keeps Parktown running smoothly and works to make sure clients, staff, and of course our patients, have the best possible experience at our facility. If you have a special problem or request, just ask to speak to her. Michelle has been in the field since 2009 and has always had a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. In her free time she enjoys the outdoors, hiking with her huskies Shadow and Molly, and curling up on the couch with Kitty to watch her favorite shows.


Blythe - Veterinary Technician

Blythe is one of our veterinary technicians. Blythe attended Carrington College for her veterinary technology degree and grew up in south San Jose. In her free time she enjoys crocheting and playing with her four cats: Whiskey, Piper, Dusty and Bear.

Hanna - RVT

Hanna was born in the Philippines and grew up in Milpitas. She graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Biology and attended Carrington College for my degree in veterinary technology. Since graduation she has obtained her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Hanna currently owns a cat (Ketone) and 2 rats (Lulu and Luna). During her free time, she likes to be a nerd and relax with a game or just watch some shows.


Vanessa B - RVT

Vanessa graduated from UC Riverside with a BA in Chemistry. She graduated from the Foothill’s Veterinary Technology Program in June 2015. She has special interest in clinical practice and anesthesiology. She lives in Campbell with one crazy diluted Tortieshell cat named Isabelle, and enjoys activities such as hiking, climbing, Zumba, yoga, and racquetball.
 


Jennifer - Veterinary Assistant

Jennifer moved to California from Wisconsin in 2013 with her fiance, Zach and her two rescue dogs, Tobias and Emma. She spent her childhood volunteering at a local kennel, which ignited her passion to help animals. When she isn't at work, you could find her hiking with her dogs, or snuggling with them while crocheting at home.
 


Kelsey - Veterinary Assistant

Kelsey is one of our veterinary assistants. She grew up on a ranch in Gilroy, and has been taking care of animals her whole life. Her husband Tyler and her have a pitbull of their own named Diesel and enjoy being outdoors whenever they can. Kelsey's first career showed her true love of horticulture and she is now her families maintenance landscaper. However, her love of animals was undeniable and for the last 6 years she's been enjoying her career working with animals and will enjoy many more to come.
 


Tracey Mooney - Receptionist

Tracey is originally from England and has lived in the US for the past three years with her husband whom she loves very much. She has been in the veterinary field since 2011 and greatly enjoys working with animals. In her free time they enjoy hiking, reading, going to music concerts, and spending time with her two cats Cloud and Henry.
 


Jacklyn - Receptionist

Jacklyn was born and raised here in San Jose. She has two cats named Mama and Balta--and is always trying to help a cat in need. She enjoys hockey, baseball, and going to the beach with her son.


Agatha - Consultant

Agatha works as a part time consultant helping our clinic behind the scenes in all sorts of ways. She has been with Parktown for more than 10 years and will always be well loved by our clients and staff. When she is not at work she is busy spending time with her daughter and working for the family business. She has a Norweigan Elkhound (shown here) and two kitties who also share her home.
