Veterinarian
Dr. Amy Goulart, Medical Director. Dr. Amy has been a veterinarian at Parktown since 2008. A 2004 graduate of Ross University, Dr. Amy started out in mixed animal practice in upstate New York, gained experience in both emergency and shelter medicine in Ohio, and taught veterinary technology courses at a local community college.
After settling into California and establishing Parktown as a home base, Dr. Amy has cultivated special interest in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. In her free time she spends time with her husband and three sons. The Goulart's have two dogs, Maggie, a labradoodle, and Georgia, a Boston terrier. Her sons keep her busy in her free time exploring nature and with their many endeavors including raising praying mantids and jumping spiders.
Veterinarian
Dr. Cheryl Thur graduated from Washington State University with her DVM degree in 2010. Prior to getting her doctorate she received her BS in Biology and Minor in Chemistry at the University of Utah. In 2018, Dr. Thur accomplished a long term goal by completing her certification as a Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist and really enjoys using this modality to treat intervertebral disk disease, arthritis and a variety of other conditions. She has special interests in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and dentistry. Dr. Thur lives with her husband, a tuxedo cat named Kittle, and her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Eva. She enjoys exploring the bay area via hiking, and loves traveling, camping, playing piano, practicing yoga and birdwatching.
Veterinarian
Dr. Megan Nakagawa, or Dr. Megan/Dr. N, became interested in veterinary medicine as a young girl soon after convincing her parents to let her adopt a blind puppy. She went to undergrad at UC Davis where she majored in Animal Science and competed on the intercollegiate gymnastics team. Next, she attended Oregon State University in Corvallis where she earned her DVM. Dr. N joined Parktown Veterinary Clinic in 2019.
