Wellness Exams

Wellness examinations are recommended annually for younger patients with no preexisting health problems and bi-annually for our senior patients. These regular check-ups are important to help identify emerging health concerns early on and help take action to keep your pet on the right track to ensure the healthiest life possible.

X-rays

Parktown offers advanced digital radiography with consultation by a boarded radiologist. We also perform digital dental x-rays to better evaluate the tooth root and surrounding periodontal bone, just as like in human dentistry.

Surgery

Our Parktown doctors are confident in a wide variety of advanced soft tissue surgical procedures including, but not limited to cystotomies, cherry eye surgical procedures, enucleations, amputations, gastrointestinal surgeries, splenectomies, pyometra surgery, and c-sections in addition to spays, neuters, and mass removals. For orthopedic procedures such as fracture repairs, cruciate ligament tears, and patella surgeries we work with both a traveling surgeon and a boarded orthopedic surgeon who can come to Parktown and perform orthopedic procedures.

We diagnose and treat heart disease in addition to offering consulting services from a boarded cardiologist.

Cold Laser Therapy:

Laser therapy is completely painless and uses cold laser light as a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical treatment option. Our cold laser is used to manage pain, promote wound healing, quicken post-surgical healing, and help treat gingivitis, sprains, strains, and other types of inflammation.

Dentistry

Dental disease is known to lead to health problems elsewhere in the body, including the heart and kidneys, as well as cause unnecessary pain and discomfort for pets. We use the same dental equipment and protocol as human dentistry including ultrasonic scaling and polishing, dental probing and charting, digital dental x-rays, and, when deemed necessary, dental extractions and gingival surgeries.

Senior package: We all know that animals age at a much faster and more dramatic rate than humans because their projected life span is quite a bit shorter. We recommend doing a senior screen.

  • Office visit & exam
  • Senior wellness blood panel
  • Thyroid test
