A diagnosis of cancer can be frightening. However, many pets respond successfully to cancer treatments and therapy and go on to lead happy, healthy lives following treatment. At Parktown we can provide oral chemotherapeutic treatments for a variety of cancer types. Pets in need of more extensive chemotherapy or radiation therapy are referred to a local veterinary cancer specialist. After treatment, many of the follow up exams and blood tests are performed at our hospital while we work in conjunction with the specialist. For pets where chemotherapy may not be an option, we also offer extensive palliative care services to help keep your pet comfortable.
